Together with Deepak Chopra, David Simon writes Agni, the newsletter for the Chopra Center for Well Being. In a recent edition, he makes an eloquent plea with readers to take on the difficult challenge of making changes in areas of life that may not be working optimally. David encourages us to get out of our minds and connected to our hearts. He writes with a heartfelt and spiritual perspective:
If there’s something in your life that you believe is not serving you – perhaps a relationship that is not nurturing, maybe a job that you feel stifled in, a pattern of behavior that is not creating emotional or physical wellbeing, I encourage you … know that you have the full capacity and the right to make the changes that will enliven your awareness, raise the succulent joy in your heart, and allow you to experience the vitality that comes from living in balance with your environment…
the only restriction to living a life of fulfillment, joy, vitality, and love is misinformation that you may have accumulated during your lifetime… all of the answers are within us, and the deeper we go, the more freedom, connection, and bliss is available to us… Close your eyes, tune into your heart, and listen to the current dialogue between your mind and body. If it is not in celebration of your life, ask what changes you can make now to move you in the direction of greater joy, love, and well being.

Having faith that we truly contain the answers we seek within ourselves does not come naturally to all of us and can be particularly challenging for women. Society, magazines, teachers, spouses are often right there with opinions and “expertise” on what will work for us or what path we should choose. It’s a noisy world to try and hear your own voice!
We deliberately are creating a community at Just Say Glow to quiet those outer voices and help us, individually, listen to ourselves. We love sharing our ideas, getting input and perspective from other people and other sources, but we also have had experiences feeling led astray in life when we gave too much weight to some of those inputs. The conversation right here is for you, about you, to explore the questions and ideas you have, and for you to seek and consider as much and as many thought provoking insights as you care to take in during your journey… but we salute this process as YOUR journey, to the destination that will truly create for you a life that lights you up. And if you find yourself there, let us know how it feels and what you learned along the way!
Do you experience life as a journey? What destinations are you headed for or where would you like to aim? If you have sources and inputs we would find valuable, we appreciate you taking a moment to suggest some of them to us. If we can support you in your process, bring it on! We may or may not have ideas that fit well for you, but we promise we will come to the table filled with curiosity, caring, and respect.
